A 3D AI character named Khalid on an 86" Holobox, built for the Ministry of Justice in Abu Dhabi for the UAE Hackathon at TDRA. He helps workers understand their rights in four languages and connects them to reporting and police systems. The project won 1st place.
Holoriser built this project for the Ministry of Justice in Abu Dhabi to take part in the UAE Hackathon held at TDRA. We developed a smart 3D character named Khalid, with Emirati features and dress, as an interactive front desk dedicated to supporting workers and helping them understand their rights.
The idea was to give workers, especially those at worksites and workshops, a safe and easy way to understand their rights, get advice and ask questions in their own language, with direct access to important services like filing a report or reaching the relevant authorities. The project won 1st place in the hackathon.

We designed and built a 3D virtual character named Khalid, with Emirati features and dress, then placed him inside a smart interactive program made for dealing with workers and answering their questions.
Khalid can talk and interact in four languages: Arabic, English, Hindi and Urdu, so workers can communicate in a language they understand without a language barrier. We connected the program to important support systems, including the work and labour reporting system and a line to the police. The screen has three main buttons for quick access to core services: calling the police, filing a request or report, and reaching labour services. So Khalid does more than give information and advice, he lets a worker take a real action straight from the device. He runs on an 86" Holobox.

The project offered a human and technical solution for an important group in the community, giving workers an easy, safe way to understand their rights, get guidance and reach the right authorities when they need to. Instead of feeling lost or unsure how to find information, a worker can talk to a character that understands their language, answers their questions and helps them take the next step. The social impact is a big part of why it won 1st place at the UAE Hackathon.
